About

Louie's Wild Alaskan Seafood

Our Journey

Harvesting Wild Alaskan Seafood.

Louie began his fishing career as a 12-year-old boy, fishing for halibut by hand out of a 14 ft skiff near Ketchikan, AK. Having moved to Alaska a few years earlier, he fell in love with the fishing lifestyle and began hanging out with the old-time fishermen at the boat harbor. He listened to their stories, asked a lot of questions, and started fishing.

Years later he married Karina, (who grew up trolling with her Dad), and we became a team. Each of our four children joined the "crew" as babies, and all grew up fishing with us.  We live on our boat for about 6 months of the year, spending our winters at home in Sitka, AK.

As fishermen we realize that many people don't have access to great seafood. With our family of 6 all working on the boat, we knew we could produce amazing results!  Filleted,  vac sealed, and frozen immediately upon catch, delivered straight to the consumer!  In 2015 we opened our retail business In Boise, ID, as we have family there, and have made Boise our second home.

Now, as some of our children have moved on to their own careers, our crew has evolved to include close family friends.

What makes our fish different?  Fish is so perishable! It shouldn't smell "fishy"! That's why we freeze our fish as soon as we've caught and meticulously cleaned them. Before rigor sets in! A fish Frozen at Sea is so much better than any "fresh" fish. Also, blast freezing at -40F makes seafood safe to eat sashimi.

All of the fish we catch are wonderfully frozen at sea, and thaw beautifully, like just-caught fish!
